Sunday’s Sermon Jam…

15 Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not! 16 Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living. 17 Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly obey this teaching we have given you. 18 Now you are free from your slavery to sin, and you have become slaves to righteous living. -Romans 6:15-18

This past week I happened across a forum conversation in which people were discussing how hard it is to resist sin. I couldn’t help bu t smile because once upon a time I felt that way too. Don’t get me wrong I am not saying that like I am perfect and don’t make mistakes. But what I am about to suggest is that as Christians we are no longer slaves to sin..in other words we don’t have to give in to doing the wrong things, and if we are truly honest most of the time when we sin it is really the result of lack of discipline and laziness on our part. In any case the whole forum reminded me of a message we once heard by Pastor Ricky Nutt from Vallejo California, of Revival Center Ministries.
